HealthSpan Solutions Announces the Formation of Clinical Nutrition Institute
HealthSpan Institute to provide resources and research on nutrition and healthy
aging
Little Rock, AR — March 18, 2010 — A consumer driven healthcare
organization, HealthSpan Solutions, announced the formation of the HealthSpan Institute
(www.healthspaninstitute.com)
to further the field of clinical nutrition and provide expert resources and educational
content on healthy aging and market research. The HealthSpan Institute was specifically
designed to provide an online educational forum and serve as a center of research
focused on issues and health concerns affecting the aging baby boomer population.
“The
HealthSpan Institute provides one comprehensive and reliable source for information
on managing specific health conditions associated with age related health concerns,
chronic healthcare management, nutrition and exercise practices for engaging in
a healthy lifestyle,” president of HealthSpan Solutions John Troup, Ph.D. said.
“Unique to the institute is our ability to take consumer insights and conduct market
research for product use with the health needs of consumers and practitioner insights.
This range of capabilities will help build new solutions and products for boomer
consumers across multiple categories.”
Experts
and specialists in healthy aging and boomer marketing regularly contribute to the
organization with important and practical information based on latest research information.
“For
those interested in the field of clinical nutrition and aging, the institute is
a helpful source for balanced information,” HealthSpan Institute contributor and
professor of geriatrics at Saint Louis University Dr. John Morley said. “Site content
is updated with news pertaining to the industry and research findings. Their program
is singularly focused on the link between healthy aging and nutritional health solutions
for boomers.”
The
organization will collaborate with several government entities and organizations,
universities, hospitals and internationally recognized researchers to conduct research
on health concerns expressed by baby boomers, and ways to manage and influence these
health conditions. An extensive clinical research program focused on nutritional
practices, and the role of activity combined with nutrition will be available. As
a clinical research organization focused on aging, studies examining the combination
of nutrient-drug co-therapy and age specific health issues, such as diabetes and
cardiovascular health, COPD, cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease and sarcopenia
will be conducted in collaboration with industry and government sponsors.
A national registry for research analysts and consumers interested in learning and
participating in these research projects is planned to be available online. The
site hopes to provide information on updated news alerts, seminars, educational
events and research programs as it grows.
